| | After an awesome weekend in North Carolina where I did absolutely NOTHING running-wise, I thought I'd do couple laps around Reid Park to get myself back in the game (especially since Lauren told us last week we would be upping our mileage to get ready for our 1/2 and full marathons). The workout went fine and the weather was toasty, but nothing too horrible. |
| | Boot Camp day! Didn't get to do the full two laps, but we still got our run in made about 4 stops. The lap along Alvernon is painful. I know I should have been trying to get my mind off of it, but I just couldn't. Mind over matter.. |
| | Tempo Run Day. This run was interesting since it was new territory for me. Everyone's got to start somewhere, and this one suited me just fine with the lack of hills and mostly even course. If I can finish 8 miles comfortable in the next two to three weeks, I will be right on schedule. I gotta sign up for that Saguaro Nat'l Park 8 miler... Yes, i love punishment. |
| | Whew! 8 miles up in Oro Valley was actually PRETTY NICE (both weather and company-wise) until..... that last freakin' .5 miles up Innovation Drive. I was huffing and puffing and probably sounded like I was about to give birth or something but I made it up. Definitely one I will need to do a few more times since it was such a great workout. | |

Sabino Canyon as far as they would let me. Super humid this morning, but no rain until I got back home. The bridges have flowing water going over them which is not too strong yet and feels great when you run through it.
| |
| | Humid day out in Reid Park, but great workout. I drank a little coffee before I started running and I think it gave me a little extra energy. Don't know if that's a GOOD habit though. Got really dirty. |
| | Reid Park again. Even though the main road is still half closed, that big hill in the beginning is a great workout. | |
| | Ran the canals with Lazlo - it was a nice and pretty flat course but I have some work ahead of me in increasing my pace. |
| | Hiked Blackett's Ridge in Sabino! I was super tired and thought I'd become a permanent mountain dweller, but I finished it okay. No running miles put in. |
| | Ran up in Ahwatukee around my folks' neighborhood. Not a very interesting run, but a good way to get some miles in. |
| | Ran up in the South Mountain Park. The trail is really rocky, which is bothersome after a while, but there are some great hills which make this trail worthwhile. |
| |
Got my butt handed to me at the track today. Great workout though, and I can see that I need to keep coming back! We did 5 x 1000 's.
|
| | No running today, but went to spin class instead for some cross train. |
| |
Sabino Canyon, up to mile marker 2 and back, twice. It looks like the opened up the trail completely - hooray!!
| |
| | Spin Class today - no running |
| | 5 Miles around Reid Park. I have this strange "popping" feeling in my hip and I think thats due to insufficient stretching before and after workouts. |
| | Hard workout today around the track - we did 1 minute, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 of running with 1 minute breaks inbetween of easy jogging. I was winded!! |
| | Did the entire Sabino Canyon paved road. That hill at the end is tough but what a great workout. I'm hoping to do this route more than once a week so I can get my stamina up to potentially do the Saguaro Nat'l Park 8 miler. | |
| |
Sabino-rino again. I really love this run. Today, I was huffing and puffing up the last big hill when this biker behind me told me I was going 6.5 miles per hour. I responded by telling him "hey, its better than zero".
|
| | Reid Park. I was late joining the Blue Pants group so I decided to just run around it twice instead. |
| | Once around the park because I was worried about something that happened at work the previous day :-( |
| | Solo Boot camp work out at Reid Park. I was surprisingly energetic and saw Jeff going around the park as well, which was encouraging for me. |
| | Okay, so starting this week I will have to kick my own butt a bit more. Went to Sabino and did the usual route which was surprisingly easier this time around. I saw some of the BR group but didn't run with them, unfortunately. The hills will do me some good for the upcoming Saguaro East race - I officially registered this morning!! Wish me luck, blog readers.

| |
Reid park on my own, i got our new schedule mixed up!
|
| | Real boot camp this time! |
| | Tempe run this morning. i was so tired that I didn't get up in time to join the BPR group though... |
| | Sabino Canyon again! Boy, today was tough | |
